Citizens members receive a basic call allowance of three calls during each billing period for calls to Citizens Directory Assistance (411) for numbers within the Roanoke LATA (local access and transport area). All calls over the allowance are charged at the rate of 29 cents per call. Calls placed through Citizens Operators are charged at the rate of 58 cents per call within the Roanoke LATA and are not covered by the allowance.
The Directory Assistance charge is in addition to any other charges that may apply to the call. Calls from hotels, hospitals, and coin phones where Citizens provides the full service are exempt from charges. In addition, the disabled member, who cannot use the published directory, is exempt from Directory Assistance (411) charges provided an exemption form has been completed and filed with the Citizens business office.
Charges apply for each number requested when you dial 411, even if you ask for numbers which are not available, such as non-published, or which the attendant cannot find. You may request up to two numbers per inquiry. |
