How can I upload files to my website?
• FTP
• Check out our new easy to use site builder. Contact our business office and request the setup of your webpage. Please name your initial homepage as index.html. You can use a file transfer program (FTP). You will need to type in the following information on the Profile Session Screen:

Profile Name: ftp.swva.net
Host Name: ftp.swva.net
Host Type: auto detect
Userid: we assign for your account
Password: we assigned for your account
The other fields should be blank

Click OK. A screen will appear that shows the files on your computer and your directory on our server. You can now double click on the file index.html or any other updated file you've been working on and it will automatically place or replace the old file on our server. We recommend that you save your graphics as .jpg files to cut down the amount of space used. You download your .jpg files the same way you do the .html files. They do not have to be renamed. Now go into your web browser and type in your full url address of yourname.swva.net or www.yourname.com in the location field and your webpage will appear. If you have problems, please contact our technical support.

How can I set up CGI scripts / server-side includes to my website?
Perl Common Gateway Interface (CGI) scripts automatically work on the Microsoft Internet Information Server. The exec path (shebang !#) at the beginning of the file is not required. CGI scripts must be saved with a .pl or .cgi extension. Active Server Pages (ASP), Prehypertext Processor (PHP), and server-side includes (SSI) are also supported. ASP pages must be saved with a .asp extension. PHP pages must be saved with a .php3, .phtml, or .php extension. Pages that use SSI must be saved with a .shtml, .shtm, or .stm extension. If you are using scripts originally written for a UNIX-type server, please note that scripts that require sendmail must be modified to use mailto or blat. These command line mail programs can be called from e:/scripts/mailto and e:/scripts/blat respectively.

For information about Perl, please check the Official Perl website.
For information about PHP, please check the Official PHP website.
For information about ASP, please check the Official ASP website.

How can I tell what kind of users have viewed my website?
We can set up an area where you can find out statistical information about your site's usage. Please contact our technical support and ask to have it activated. Once it is activated, please go to the Web Statistics page and type in your username and password to access your stats. Since the report is generated in real-time, the process may take a minute or two to load for extremely popular sites.
