Frequently Asked Questions
Who will be taking over the accounts?
Citizens will begin contacting existing customers and those who have requested service. A list of alternative providers with comparable services will be provided.
My neighbors have the service; why can't I get it?
Timing is critical and your neighbor may have purchased online or at a local agent with existing equipment. Citizens stopped activating new equipment on February 4, 2009.
Regrettably, Citizens Mobile Broadband Internet service will be phased out on April 30, 2009. We will be contacting existing customers and those requesting the service in the very near future. I will gladly provide you with a list of service providers offering comparable solutions for your High Speed Internet needs.
I’m still under a service commitment; will I be responsible for fulfilling this agreement?
No customer will be held to the commitment terms and there will be no penalties for disconnecting service before April 30, 2009. Charges for non-returned equipment may still apply.
Can I use the existing equipment with another provider?
Unfortunately not. You can, however, return the equipment in good working condition and we will take care of recycling the equipment for you.
To schedule a time for a Citizens representative to stop by your location and pick up your equipment for recycling, please call Citizens at 745-2111 or our 24/7 Customer Support at 1-800-941-0426.
